3M Aqua-Pure Whole House Water Filter Cartridge
Category: aqua-pure ap810
The 3M™ Aqua-Pure® Water Filter Cartridge AP811 is manufactured by 3M Purification Inc. (3MPITM), formerly CUNO Incorporated. It helps to reduce sediment particles as small as 25 microns in size, as well as rust, providing clearer water for drinking, bathing, laundry, and other household uses. 3M's exclusive Micro-KleanTM XL progressive porosity technology forces water through pores that become increasingly tighter, filtering smaller and smaller microscopic particles. The unique process allows the cartridge to effectively reduce sediment while providing a high flow rate.
The cartridge has a flow rate of up to 20 gallons/76 liters per minute and operates at temperatures from 40-100°F (4.4-37.8°C) and water pressures from 25-125psi (172-862 kPa). It is for use with whole-house water filtration systems AP801, AP801-C, AP801T-C and AP801-1.5-C, and should be replaced every six months, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow rate occurs.
Whole-house water treatment systems range from simple canisters with disposable filter cartridges to complex systems of tanks and filters for different contaminants. A system that includes a water softener may be bypassed by a cold drinking water line to provide salt-free drinking water. Whole-house systems are typically installed immediately downstream from water meters and well pumps, and thus may be referred to as point-of-entry (POE) systems. Depending on the filtration and treatment processes, they remove or reduce iron, sediment, chlorine odor and taste, and other chemical and biological contaminants. In doing so, they help protect plumbing and fixtures, reduce unpleasant tastes, colors and odors; and, in some cases, provide healthier water.
Regular maintenance of a whole-house water filter system may be as simple as replacing a filtration cartridge every six months, or may require an annual service call. The initial expense of a whole-house water filter system often pays off in the long term, as it may protect pipes and fixtures from iron and/or hard water deposits and discoloration and provide savings in bottled water costs.
